THE CURRENT SITUATION

As Far As Anyone Can Determine, this "war" was started by the self-proclaimed Knights of Acacia, though they declare themselves to be freedom fighters trying to overthrow a vast and corrupted monopoly with a stranglehold over all of Actavia. The entity at the focus of their attentions is the uniquitious Empire Corporation, who claim the part of the victim in these heinous attacks. Despite large monetary losses and some human casualties being suffered by Empire, any citizen of Actavia with half a brain can tell that they're not being entirely truthful in their propaganda-like spin on the situation. With such a muddled situation and poorly linked news networks reporting whatever they can get their hands on, it's understandable that you may be confused about who's in the right here, or even what exactly is under dispute.

The Knights seem to have their sights set on utterly destroying Empire, but their motivations for doing so are unclear. Previous attempts at publishing press releases spouting their agenda have been quickly hushed up by unseen, undeniably wealthy sources who seem to be, if not representing Empire directly, clearly in the company's pocket. The Knights have taken a more indirect approach, attempting to spread knowledge of what they claim to be illegal and immoral scientific research covered up by murders and other crimes on the part of Empire. Empire claims to be above even denying the preposterous nature of these accusations and takes great pains to squash these "ridiculous rumours" wherever and whenever they arise.

The truth is a vague and elusive concept, even to those who dedicate all their resources to unraveling this mystery. Many say even those directly involved in the battle are little more than pawns who lack complete information on the situation. With luck things will become clearer with the passage of time, and those involved may at least proceed with certainty in their chosen courses of action.
